Ottawa, ON, Canada - Lineup
- Silla, Riit
Two stages. One night. Club SAW becomes a circumpolar takeover. The indoor stage and open-air courtyard run in parallel from opening til late, moving from traditional drumming into electro-pop, experimental throat singing into hard rock, Arctic soul under post-sunset light, and a closing DJ set that pulls contemporary Inuit pop and classic Inuit songs onto the dance floor. Come early, stay late. A lineup of seven Inuit artists holding three JUNO nominations, a Polaris Prize nod, the Sobey Art Award, and a Canadian Screen Award between them. This is truly a night spent in excellent company. THE LINEUP: Riit (headliner) carries the sing-song dialect of her Pangnirtung home into synth laden electro-pop. One of the most original voices in contemporary Inuit music, blending katajjaq, and masterful Inuktitut lyricism. Silla takes katajjaq on a sonic journey of hard rock, electronic, and post-industrial heavy-hitting dance floor beats. JUURINI represents Nunavik, bringing his full band with Kuujjuaq-rooted ambient folk and thoughtful Inuktitut songwriting. Josh Q plays a courtyard set under the setting sun of Arctic soul inspired by Iqaluit, with a voice that moves any room to its core. Lambo brings the Iqaluit after-party vibe to Ottawa. A night under the midnight sun soaked in contemporary Inuit pop, classic Inuit songs, and well-loved dance floor bangers deep into the night. Laakkuluk Williamson (MC) anchors and electrifies the evening as master of ceremonies. Donovan Tootoo opens with qilaut (Inuit frame drum) traditions from the Kivalliq region, grounding the night. Presented by Qamaniq Records alongside Debaser, in the historic ByWard Market as part of Ottawa's 200th anniversary celebrations. 19+ 6 PM til late Bilingual Inuktitut/English programming
